Hello, I am Amber Stagg and my partners name is Aysha Tryon we are working on the aboriginal hero Ovide Mercredi. Aysha and I were both on the volleyball and basketball team, we played and lost agianst you guys once or twice, but had fun doing it. We have some interesting facts that you guys may be able to use during your persuasive writing and debating. -He was eleted to a term as national chief in 1994, then defeated in July 1997 by a guy named Phil Fontaine. -recieved honorary law degrees from universities such as St. Mary {Halifax}, and Bishop {Quebec}. - When he was National cheif he sent people from the International Centre for Human Rights and Democratic Development {I.C.H.R.D.D} to a place called Chiapas, Mexico to observe the way the mexicans live. - When he was a leader, the AFN obtained extra funding for research conditions on reserves, and healing along with economic development. -The AFN has also started the Brighter Futures program, and the Family Violence Initiative, along with the Aboriginal AIDs Initiative. I hope this information helps you with your project, I know and Aysha now knows that he is a hero some what and we are really excited to be working with you guys during this project, can't wait tell we finally get to talk virtualface to virtual face tomorrow, Bye Bye for now.
